Our trip to Washington D.C. and the Folger Shakespeare Theater.

My day in Washington D.C. was very fun and I enjoyed it. We went to the Folger Shakespeare Theater and then went to lunch. We also went to take a picture in front of the Capitol and then we returned to the bus. The play was interesting and I enjoyed it. It taught me a lot about Shakespeare's writing that I did not know, especially the clues about how to understand it better. Also seeing the way they acted it out and seeing the plays done live gave me a whole new perspective on Shakespeare's writing and a deeper appreciation for it. We walked to lunch and that was good and we saw some "interesting" characters on our way there. Most noticeable a guy with a camera mounted on his head. We got to lunch and I ate pizza. It was in Union Station Eatery. They had many choices and good food. We then walked back to the bus by the Capital and then went home. My favorite part of the play was the fight from Hamlet because of all the action and fighting. It was exciting to watch and interesting to see how they acted it out.
When I read Shakespeare now I will approach it with an open mind and a willingness to try to understand it more not just give up. I will use the tools and clues they told us to better understand what is  being said, what it all means, and what is going on. This way I can now better appreciate the reading since I might actually understand it now. I look forward to enjoying Shakespeare's writings now and I really enjoyed the trip to D.C.
