Famous Author Quotes from Into The Wild

To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.
Steve Prefontaine
I think this quote would apply to Chris because he gives himself a very high standard of living. Even though Steve was talking about his gift of running it could apply to anything that your good at or could try harder at. If you don't give it your all it is like your sacrificing it which is something I think Chris would agree with.

Place in the US I would like to visit.

I would like to visit the Grand Canyon.  I have never been to the Grand Canyon but I would love to go because I enjoy doing things outdoors like hiking. Also I would like to go to the Grand Canyon just to see it since it is so amazing. To get to the Grand Canyon I would need to fly into Arizona or drive there which would take much longer. Then I would need to drive around the canyon into either the North or South rim. The North and South rims are opposite sides of the canyon. Of course the Grand Canyon is best known for the " Grand Canyon" that is there. Some things I would do there are hiking, ride a donkey, take a river trip, and go on a tour.  Some things I would need to bring with me on this trip are hiking boots, clothes for hot weather, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, money, a cellphone, and a map of the area. The weather in the Grand Canyon varies by season. In the summer the weather in warm in the 80's and there are frequent thunderstorms. In the Winter temperatures are colder and there is snow and ice around the canyon. I would really like to go to the Grand Canyon one day because I love the outdoors and the Grand Canyon fits the bill.

Into The Wild Introduction

Now since we are done reading a Midsummers Night Dream we are going to start reading Into The Wild. The book is about a man named Chrisopher McCandless and his journey through the Alaskan wilderness after he graduates from college. It follows him once he graduates from college and hikes through the Alaskan wilderness and attempts to survive on his own. He goes many other places too along the way. It will be interesting to see how he attempts to survive in the wild and what happens to him along the way. I think the book will be interesting to read.

Dream Blog

A dream I would like to have is being able to fly. I think it would be cool to fly anywhere I want to in a dream. I have never had a dream where I fly but I heard it is a really cool feeling. It would be even better if I could fly anywhere I wanted to like places I have been in real life. Also it would be awesome if I could fly really fast and high. That is a dream that I would like to have one day.
